From the private parking you walk into the medieval village Montauroux. On tuesday morning, there is a little market on the square. Here you can also find the bakery, the small little stores, a bank, a butchery and the tourist office.
Several times in the week, boules competitions held on the square, you can even play a game with friends or family there. Along the square are two terraces where you can get a cup of coffee or enjoy a glas of pastis.
Once in a while, especially in the summer, there are music performances or other events.
It is nice to walk through the narrow little streets of the old village to go visit the chapel.
Montauroux is a lovely village likes to welcome tourists but also organizes many cultural activities for it's "own" people.

La Bouverie

Because of the special location of La Bouverie, you can walk from almost everywhere into the impressive surrounding nature.
All around are vineyards, forests, rocky plateaus where wild thyme and mint are growing, little water streams and the high, red rocks from the Gorges du Blavet.
La Bouverie belongs to the municipality of Roquebrune-sur-argens (7km), a beautiful old village with many little shops and a nice environment.
Not far away are different vine castles where you have plenty of choice to discover the best tasting rosés, or to buy that red wine you wanted to take home.
The coast and the beaches of St Aygulf, les Issambres, Agay, St Raphaël and Fréjus are about 20 minutes driving only.
Each year, a great cycling event if organised : the Roc d'Azur, professionals as well as amateurs can participate. The area is therefore a wonderful place to go cycling or hiking.

Lac de st Cassien

You will pass this wide lake when you drive from the highway to Montauroux. There are several restaurants, you can rent canoes and pedalos.
The lake also brings many fishers who love to throw out their angling rod here. Along the shores are little beaches where you can sunbath or swim freely.

Golf courses

By Tourrettes lies the large golf course called la Terre Blanche. It is one of the biggest of whole Europe (8km).
Other golf courses in the region are close to Mandelieu, Roquebrune-sur-argens, Valescure, La Motte.

Coast and beaches

The near highway allows you reach the beaches of Cannes, Mandelieu, La Napoule, St Raphaël, Fréjus and Agay very fast. You can also go to St Tropez (45 min) but, in the season, it is recommended, to take the boat to sail there to avoid the dense trafic : departures from Cannes, St Raphaël or St Maxime.


In the hinterland you can make magnificent hikes. You will arrive in a total different but no less beautiful landscape : picturesque little villages, gorgeous nature and amazing sights.
In the winter there are many ski possibilities within an hour's drive.

Trip ideas

St Cézaire (18km)

Leaving from Montauroux, you can drive to St Cezaire through narrow, turtuous but beautiful roads. If you drive further you can go to the hinterland, go back through Mons or heading to Grasse, the famous perfume city. Likewise, Cabris and Peymenade are worth a visit.

Gorges du Verdon (65km)

This a day long trip to the most spectacular canyons of entire Europe. Here, you can hike, go canoeing or swim. Don't forget to visit some very unique villages like Marie Saint Moustiers

Monaco (80km)

Hang out on the luxurious shopping streets, pay a visit to the the harbour full of the most exclusive and impressive yachts, the royal palace or the renowned Casino.

Nice (60km)

The magnificent old downtown city, the flea market, stunning fountains, narrow shopping streets, terraces and of course de wide boulevard des Anglais with it's well-known hotels.

Cannes (30km)

The city of the international film festival. Here again, you can walk along the sea, visit the casino, have delicious lunch or dinner in the center or spend hours in the local shops.
It is also great to take the boat to go visit the St Marguerite and St Honorat islands.

Fréjus - St Raphaël (30km)

You can just follow the sea from the marina in Fréjus to walk to St Raphaël. Along the promenade is a vast market every Sunday morning.


Callian (3km)

From your terrace you look on this fairytale looking village. A little square in front of the church where you can enjoy a delicious plat-du-jour.

Tourrettes - Fayence (10km)

Situated on a hill as well: little markets, boutiques, terraces and fine restaurants.
Fayence has a little airport for gliders and small planes.

Seillans (13km)

From your terrace you look on this fairytale looking village. A little square in front of the church where you can enjoy a delicious plat-du-jour.

Bargemon (23km)

A little more distant pretty provencal village. You can combinate your visit to this town with a trip to Callas and Claviers. Definitely worth it!

Mons (15km)

High in the mountains, you will catch a glimpse of the lights of Mons. A splendid, winding route leads to this amazing place. From Mons you have a view on the sea by clear weather.

Tanneron (14km)

In february, all the hills here are covered with mimosa, bushes and trees; a divine fragrant yellow landscape ! In the little village you can taste a glas of mimosa liquor.
